Adapin Adapin is doxepin hydrochloride, a tricyclic antidepressant.

Adapin is doxepin hydrochloride, a tricyclic antidepressant. It increases the availability of norepinephrine and serotonin in the synapse and also blocks histamine and several other receptors, which is associated with sedative and anti-itch effects.
