significance testing
significance testing Significance testing is a statistical method used to judge whether the null hypothesis remains plausible in light of the data.
Significance testing is a statistical method used to judge whether the null hypothesis remains plausible in light of the data. When the observed data, or more extreme results, would be very unlikely if the null hypothesis were true, the null hypothesis is rejected and the finding is called statistically significant; this does not by itself mean the effect is important.
