SD SD refers to spreading depolarization, a brain process often seen after stroke.

SD refers to spreading depolarization, a brain process often seen after stroke. In ischemic stroke it commonly appears around the infarct and helps drive damage into nearby at-risk tissue, and in hemorrhagic stroke it is part of the secondary injury process linked to later cerebral ischemia.
