rhombencephalon The rhombencephalon is the embryonic hindbrain, the backmost of the three early brain vesicles.

The rhombencephalon is the embryonic hindbrain, the backmost of the three early brain vesicles. It gives rise to parts of the brain stem, including the medulla oblongata, pons, and cerebellum, and its enlarged cavity becomes the fourth ventricle.
