Aura is a historical term for the subjective sensory, motor, bodily, or mental experiences that can come just before a nervous seizure, especially in epilepsy or hysteria. In a narrower historical sense, it can mean the feeling of something like a current of air rising from the body to the head as a warning of an epileptic attack; it was also used for a supposed mesmeric emanation or fluid.
