2-arachidonoylglycerol

2-arachidonoylglycerol 2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG) is an endogenous endocannabinoid that helps activate cannabinoid receptors, especially CB1 in the central nervous system.

2-arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG) is an endogenous endocannabinoid that helps activate cannabinoid receptors, especially CB1 in the central nervous system. Its levels are normally reduced by the enzyme MGLL, and when 2-AG increases, endocannabinoid signaling is strengthened, which can dampen excessive neurotransmitter release and neural activity.
